SUNY Plattsburgh Application for Graduate Diversity Fellowship

Required Criteria

Applicants MUST:
- Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Be a newly applying full-time graduate student to a master's or certificate of advanced study degree program
- Be able to contribute to the diversity of a graduate degree program or field of study
- Have overcome a disadvantage or other impediment to success in higher education
- Have high intellectual and professional promise
- Have completed a Diversity Fellowship application, as well as an application for admissions for fall by February 15th

Preferred Criteria

Preference will be given to candidates who are (select all that apply):
(self-disclosure is optional and not required for consideration)

History of overcoming adversity

From a low-income background (e.g. Pell-eligible as undergraduates)

First-generation college student (students whose parents have not earned a bachelor's degree)

AmeriCorps alumni

U.S. Veterans (e.g. Airforce, Army, Marines, Navy, etc.)

Current SUNY students, alumni, and/or fellows
